Cathedral Grove
Cathedral Grove
acrylic on stucco
45' x 50'
2007

This project initiated my interest in the relationships between public space, architecture, art, and the city. Cathedral Grove recalls the archetypical forest as a metaphor for dwelling and relationship to urban space. This piece is designed to incorporate the arches that make up the facade of this building at 157 Catherine Street North in Hamilton.

The building is owned by Architect Greg Sather and functions as McCallumSather Architect's office space. McCallumSather is an environmentally focused architectural practice.
