Acoustic Ecology
2015

The defining feature of this site is a loud, repetitive clanging sound that is generated by one of the industrial plants in the neighborhood.

As generations have lived in this area and experienced this sound as part of daily life, in this work I am interested in how sound environments affect and influence daily patterns. Like church bells in Europe that set a certain cadence to the day, this work examines how industrial sound that permeates North American post-industrial neighborhoods can similarly influence patterns of daily life and ecology.
