A commission for Greg Sather of McCallumSather Architects in Hamilton, ON. This project initiated my interest in relationships between public space, architecture, art, and the city. Cathedral Grove recalls the archetypical forest as a metaphor for dwelling and relationships between the body and urban space. The work is created from a single vantage point across the street in a busy section of downtown Hamilton, raising questions about perspective, orientation and the construction of view corridors in the city.
