Light and Time
The paintings in this series reflect the quality of light that is specific to Vermont in the winter. The paintings document the light at different times of the day.
I had three large windows in my second floor studio that overlooked Johnson during my residency at the Vermont Studio Center. The contrast between the cool, winter light from the snow and the shingle style homes are part of what I love about this landscape.
Midway through my residency I had a great critique with Alfredo Gisholt. He mentioned my paintings reminded him of outside. It is interesting to think of a painting as reminiscent of a place.
