Methods for Writing explores how landform and environmental constraints influence the way people feel in public space. This performance work informed the approach to the Nikkei Public Art Memorial for the Japanese-Canadian community in Vancouver, BC.

The performance work in this series explores movement as a method for generating space in the urban environment. This series of experimental pieces mediates relationships between boundaries and a verbal score.

For each performance piece, the performers exchanged verbal cues to direct movement in a specific environment (in this case, the paper). The performances made visible a relationship between the score and the bounds of the space.
